A properly fitted Velux (or similar brand) roof window transforms a room - a dim loft becomes a bright study, a dark kitchen extension gets sunlight through the middle of the day, a windowless bathroom finally gets natural ventilation. We handle the full installation: cutting the opening in the roof, trimming the rafters, fitting the window with the correct flashing kit for your roof covering (tile, slate, or metal), weatherproofing the junction, lining the internal reveal, and finishing with paint-ready plasterboard. A single standard window on straightforward access is usually a day on site. More complex jobs - multiple windows, awkward rafters, or difficult access - we quote on time, but we tell you honestly up front.

Does it need Building Regulations approval?
Usually yes - roof window installations in habitable rooms typically need Building Regulations sign-off. Where a notification is needed, we'll explain the route (Competent Person Scheme self-certification where available, otherwise local Building Control) on your quote so there's no surprise. Any application cost is quoted separately.How long does a single Velux install take?
One standard window on straightforward access is usually a day on site. Multiple windows, tricky rafters, or difficult access can extend the job - we'll give you a realistic timeline on the quote and stick to it.What if there's rot around an existing window?
