These terms cover the website only. Any work we carry out for you is governed by a separate quote and service agreement, which we’ll send to you before work begins.

Using the site
We do our best to keep the site available, accurate, and up to date, but we don’t guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend, or remove any part of the site at any time without notice.
You must not use the site:
- In any way that breaks any law or regulation
- To send spam, malware, or other harmful content
- To impersonate someone else or submit false details on a quote form
- To copy, scrape, or reproduce material from the site for commercial use without our written permission
Quote requests
When you submit a quote request through this site, you are inviting us to contact you and provide a written estimate. This is not a contract. No work will be agreed or carried out until we have:
- Spoken to you (usually by phone) and/or visited the site
- Sent you a written quote
- Received your written or verbal acceptance of that quote
Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote (typically 30 days unless otherwise agreed). Until a quote is accepted, either side is free to walk away with no charge.
Information on the site
The information on this site is provided in good faith and for general guidance. It does not constitute professional, technical, or legal advice. Photos, prices, and service descriptions are illustrative - the price for your job will be confirmed in your written quote.
Where prices are listed, they are correct at the time of publication but may change without notice. The price for your specific job will be confirmed when we provide your quote.
Promotional offers
From time to time we run promotional offers on our website, including seasonal discounts, product-specific discounts (such as the Velux installation offer) and a “refer a friend” referral discount. These offers are subject to the following terms.
General
- How to redeem: the offer must be mentioned at the time of requesting a quote. Offers cannot be applied to work already quoted, booked, in progress, or completed.
- One offer per booking / household: only one promotional offer can be applied to any single quote or job. Offers cannot be combined with each other or with any other discount, quote-match, or gesture of goodwill.
- Not cash: offers have no cash-alternative value. They cannot be exchanged, transferred, or refunded, and are not redeemable against invoices already paid.
- Where discounts apply: percentage or fixed-amount discounts apply to our labour and standard package prices only, before any VAT or third-party costs (materials sourced at cost, skip hire, scaffolding hire from an external supplier, permits, etc.), unless the specific offer states otherwise in writing.
- Minimum spend / minimum charge: offers do not reduce below our stated minimum visit charge, and cannot be used to bring a job under the minimum-charge threshold.
- Availability & withdrawal: all offers are subject to availability and to our ability to schedule the work. We reserve the right to amend, extend, shorten, suspend, or withdraw any offer at any time and without prior notice. An offer is only guaranteed once we have accepted your quote in writing with the discount shown on it.
- Service area: offers apply to properties within our normal service area of South and East Devon. Jobs outside that area may be quoted but offers may not apply.
- Fair use: offers are for genuine domestic and small commercial customers. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw an offer where we reasonably believe it is being used fraudulently, in bad faith, or in a way not intended by the offer.
“10% off gutter cleaning & repairs”
- The 10% discount is calculated against the standard package price of our listed gutter cleaning and repair options at the time of quoting.
- It does not apply to third-party costs (for example, scaffolding hire, permits, or specialist access equipment), which are quoted separately at cost.
- Free gutter health checks continue to be included with every quote, as standard.
“£50 off Velux installation”
- The £50 discount applies to our labour charge for the installation of a single Velux (or equivalent) roof window, quoted per unit.
- The discount does not apply to the cost of the roof window itself, flashing kits, blinds, structural works, roofing repairs identified during the survey, scaffolding, or any works required to bring the installation up to current Building Regulations.
- The offer is subject to a site survey confirming the installation is feasible. Any Building Regulations notification (typically a Competent Person Scheme sign-off by a qualified installer or a Building Control application) is your responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- One £50 discount per installation booking (not per window).
“Refer a friend - 15% off”
- Who counts as a referral: a new customer, at a different property from yours, who has not previously received a quote or done any work with us. Referrals of family members, partners, dependants, or others who share your household or address do not qualify.
- How the discount is triggered: the referral discount becomes available to you only after (a) the referred customer accepts our written quote, (b) the referred job is completed to our satisfaction, and (c) the referred customer has paid our invoice in full.
- How to claim: the referred customer must name you when they first request a quote. Referrals cannot be added retrospectively.
- Your discount:15% off the labour value of your next quote with us, on a job booked within 12 months of the referral being triggered. Same rules apply as under “General” above (one offer per booking, applies to labour only, minimum charges still apply, etc.).
- Limits: there is no cap on the number of referrals you can make, but only one referral discount can be applied to any given quote of yours.
In all cases, if we and you disagree about whether an offer applies, the decision of The Devonshire Handyman Services acting reasonably is final. Nothing in these promotional-offer terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Intellectual property
The Devonshire Handyman Services name, logos, written content, and photography on this site are owned by us or used with permission. You are welcome to view, download, and print pages for your own personal non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, copy, or republish any material from the site for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Links to other sites
The site may link to third-party websites, including our sister company The Devonshire Landscaping & Building Co., Google Reviews, and our social media profiles. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any third-party site, and a link does not imply endorsement.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, business, or opportunity.
- Our total liability arising out of your use of the site is limited to £100.
Liability for the work we carry out for you is dealt with separately in your service agreement.
Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Information we collect through this site is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the “last updated” date at the top. By continuing to use the site after we update the terms, you accept the updated version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
